Mya is a 21 year-old naturalist, birder, writer, and wildlife content creator studying an ecology and wildlife conservation degree at Bournemouth University. Her passion for the natural world began at eight years old, inspired by watching BBC SpringWatch. When not at university she is based in Crawley, West Sussex. In her spare time she's a bird ringer, council member for Sussex Ornithological Society, ambassador for Leica Sport Optics, and writes regularly for the Guardian Country Diary. She has worked with various organisations to create more opportunities for young people from all backgrounds to engage with nature, currently through her role at BTO Youth Representative. She has spent the last year developing youth engagement at Sussex Wildlife Trust, followed by a role of events assistant at Birds of Poole Harbour. Last year she was awarded 'Young Ornithologist of the Year' by the BTO and the Marsh Charitable Trust. https://www.myabambrick.com
